Green Century's Nuclear-Free Commitment
Green Century is proud to be the first family of fossil fuel free, responsible, and diversified mutual funds in the U.S.
Less trumpeted is Green Century’s longtime commitment to nuclear free investing.
Unlike many vehicles that claim to bar nuclear investment, Green Century explicitly prohibits investment in nuclear energy and nuclear weapons in our prospectus – and we have for more than two decades.
Green Century is the first firm in the U.S. to be recognized by the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), in its Don’t Bank on the Bomb report, as a Hall of Fame financial institution – one of only 22 firms worldwide to earn the distinction.
In addition, our investment strategy goes further by screening out all companies involved in military or civilian weapons or firearms, tobacco, and genetically-modified organisms (GMOs).
Who do we invest in?
We invest in environmental leaders and innovators, including renewable energy, energy and water efficiency, and healthy-food companies. We also invest in corporations that lead their industries in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. For more information on our impact and our investment strategy, click here.
