Green Century Advocate Recognized by Trellis 30 Under 30 Award

Boston, October 21, 2026 – Giovanna Eichner, a shareholder advocate at Green Century Capital Management since 2024, has been selected for the Trellis 30 Under 30 award this year as an emerging leader in climate and sustainability.

The award recognizes rising stars from across the globe who are affecting real-world environmental change and are part of a generation most likely to be exposed to climate change and its consequences such as flooding, heat stress, and water scarcity. Giovanna will join the ranks of 330 young professionals who have received this award since it was launched in 2016.

“I’m thrilled to be honored by this award and to be joining other young professionals who are bringing about positive impacts in climate, nature, technology, and other sustainability issues,” Giovanna said.

In 2026, she engaged with 35 companies and filed 14 shareholder resolutions to achieve five new policy commitments at companies across high-emitting sectors. One company currently on her radar: AI powerhouse NVIDIA.

President Leslie Samuelrich said Green Century is delighted by Giovanna’s well-earned recognition. Giovanna graduated from Boston College in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in history and German before traveling to Hamburg on a Fulbright Scholarship.

“I find it especially gratifying to have Giovanna gain recognition for her persistent efforts in urging companies to cut their climate emissions and hold them accountable to their past sustainability pledges,” Leslie said. “We know the impact of our award-winning shareholder advocacy team, and this award is the latest of many accomplishments.”

Giovanna has been invited to the Feb. 23-25 Green Biz 27 conference in San Diego, where she will be introduced on stage as part of the 11th annual cohort of awardees, meet other recipients face-to-face, and gain access to a variety of mentoring opportunities.

The Trellis 30 Under 30 (renamed from the GreenBiz’ 30 Under 30) recognizes early-career sustainability professionals actively addressing climate change, circular economy, technology, and other sustainability issues in their work. A team of Trellis climate journalists and experts evaluates applicants based on their demonstrated sustainability leadership and the measurable, quantifiable impact of their work to address climate change.
