SASB Comments

The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) is the preeminent entity for setting industry-specific standards regarding sustainability practices and reporting, creating benchmarks for industry progress and sustainability targets across 79 industries and 11 sectors of the global economy.

In 2017, SASB announced an initiative to update its standards through input from business and investors to reflect the ever-changing industry landscape. As a long standing sustainable investor and leader in shareholder engagement, Green Century Capital Management strongly believes that setting the strongest possible standards is of critical importance to industry and shareholders alike.

We partnered with As You Sow and the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility to organize $60 billion in assets under management to voice support for increased corporate transparency around issues such as agricultural antibiotic use, pesticides, GMO management, workforce health and safety, and water.
